After earning her bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology from Towson University, Marcie Koenig went on to complete a master’s in social work at the University of Maryland. For nearly 30 years, she has been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-C), walking alongside individuals and families as they navigate life’s many challenges. Her career has brought her into residential programs, healthcare facilities, outpatient clinics, and home settings—each experience shaping the way she approaches therapy today.
Marcie currently runs a private practice in Ellicott City and is excited to begin seeing clients at
Healing Path Counseling Center in Sykesville on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
In addition to her clinical work, Marcie has also served as a nursing home and assisted living administrator, as well as a life care manager. These roles deepened her understanding of caregiving, the meaning it can bring, as well as the heavy toll it can take. She has seen how major life transitions, chronic illness, grief, and caregiver stress can shake someone’s sense of self and leave them feeling overwhelmed, lost, or depleted.
In her practice, Marcie’s goal is to create a safe and collaborative space where clients feel heard and supported. Together, she works with them to explore the challenges they face and develop strategies that restore balance, strengthen resilience, and help them reconnect with hope, purpose, and meaning.
No matter where someone is on their journey, Marcie believes that change is possible—and that no one has to take the next step alone.
